Dr. Yu Wang, professor and chair in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, has been awarded the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society 2024 Best Magazine Paper Award, which recognizes the best magazine paper published in the IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine since 2006.
This accolade, received sixteen years after publication of his influential paper, “Routing in vehicular ad hoc networks: A survey,” recognizes its significant research impact and high citation. Sharing this recognition is his former PhD student Dr. Fan Li, a professor at Beijing Institute of Technology. The award was received during the award ceremony held at the 2024 IEEE 100th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2024-Fall) on October 9, 2024 in Washington DC. This marks yet another instance of CIS's recognition in the highly competitive society level best paper awards, underlining the department's leading role in innovative research.
