CIS is accepting students to a new Professional Science Master's program in Cyber Defense and Information Assurance for Fall 2017. The CIS program provides professionals with the skills necessary to protect organizations from the increasing cyber-threats. The curriculum is technology intensive, yet also bridges the increasing gap between cybersecurity technology and the overarching cybersecurity standards and policies.
Applications are invited for multiple tenured and tenure track data science faculty positions. We are interested in data scientists who are developing methods and systems to collect, process, and analyze large amounts of data, as well as techniques to extract and visualize knowledge for various application domains. CIS Undergraduate, Aidan Shea, is Second-Runner up in the ACM Research Competition at ACM SIGMODS/PODS 2017. Aidan's research, "A Visual System for Mining Crime Mining across College Campuses", was supervised by Professor Eduard Dragut.
Prof.Zoran Obradovic is program co-chair for the IEEE BigData 2017 conference (jointly with Prof. Jian-Yun Nie from University of Montreal and Dr. Toyotaro Suzumura from IBM T.J. Watson Research Center).
Professor Bo Ji has received an NSF CISE Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) Award.
Professor Bo Ji has received the prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation.
