Applications must be submitted through the NSF Education & Training Application (ETAP) system. (This system allows you to apply to multiple REU Sites across the country using a single application!)

The application consists of demographic and academic information, as well as a personal statement, an unofficial transcript, and contact information for one reference who can provide you with a reference letter. All parts of the application must be completed by the deadline to receive full consideration for selection.

Application Tips:

Your 1 page personal statement should describe your educational plans, career goals, and any background, projects, or experiences that are relevant to your participation in the Pervasive Computing REU Site at Temple University. 

The application form will automatically generate an email that contacts your references at the email you provide to request a letter of recommendation. Make sure to contact your potential letter writers in advance and confirm that they are willing to provide a letter for you. Letter writers should be able to comment on experiences or skills that are relevant to an undergraduate research experience, such as your academic preparation, creativity, problem solving ability, and work/study habits. At least one (and preferably both) letter writers should be a faculty member.
