Syllabus

Course Description

This course introduces the problems and proposed solutions in the emerging field of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The description is organized around an AGI project, Non-Axiomatic Reasoning System (NARS), which is an attempt to provide a unified model of intelligence. During this course, many problems in artificial intelligence and logic will be analyzed and discussed. Many issues in psychology and philosophy will be addressed, too. Beside the covered knowledge, the students will also learn how to carry out interdisciplinary study.

Prerequisites

• Artificial Intelligence (reference: Artificial Intelligence: Foundations of Computational Agents by David Poole and Alan Mackworth)
• Mathematical logic (reference: Introduction to Logic by Michal Walicki)
• Other desired (though not required) background: the A and B parts of this list

Grading

Each student will carry out a course project, either individually or in a group, on a related theoretical or experimental topic.
