The Temple University
Computer and Information Sciences
Department
Corporate Partners Program
Partnership Objective
The
Temple University Computer and Information Sciences Department Corporate
Partners Program is designed to develop a close working relationship between
member organizations and the Computer and Information Sciences Department.
Our program offers an environment in which business practitioners can work
with faculty and students to address the latest challenges in computing
and information technology. This cooperation can provide our partners access
to faculty expertise and to students interested in internship, cooperative
education, or practicum opportunities. Corporate Partners will also
have a direct connection to the CIS Department for hiring CIS graduates
and for sending company employees to Temple for further study in CIS.
Partnerships provide the Computer and Information Science Department additional
funds to support its mission in the areas of teaching, student activities,
research and public service. Through the generosity of our corporate partners,
Temple is better positioned to attract and retain excellent faculty and
accelerate its positive reputation in Computer and Information Sciences.
Join us, as we work together toward new levels of achievement!
Partnership Highlights
Members
at either level of support are given a point of contact within the Temple
CIS Department. Each member is asked to identify a representative within
its organization to act as a liaison to the Department and to the College
of Science and Technology Center for Student Professional Development (CST
CSPD).
Membership thus ensures a personal link designed to foster close communication
and individualized service to member companies.
Companies
are prominently identified as sponsors on the Department's Web page, in
displays within the CIS Department area, and through their participation
in the CIS Colloquium Series and involvement with student organizations.
Company representatives are encouraged to visit CIS research and teaching
laboratories and meet with faculty.
Corporate
Partners have the opportunity to direct a team of software engineering
students who develop a software project satisfying company requirements.
Corporate partners also may have representation on the CIS Department's
Industry Advisory Board. This Board provides input to the Department and
the University on its research, education and outreach initiatives. The
Department sees this collaboration as vital as it strives to present programs
that not only satisfy degree requirements, but also meet the needs of employers.
Exclusive job fairs and student interview sessions also are available to
Corporate Partners.
