Rose Marie McGinnis
My teaching focus today is to make the senior IS& T majors as prepared as possible to succeed in the fast paced Information technology world. As a faculty member it is my great privilege to work with students to make them the best they can be both academically as well as professionally. My years of professional experience in a variety of software development organizations provides me with the knowledge base to make the students I teach well rounded in terms of professional development and technology skill sets. I have a passion for technology as a way of solving problems and changing lives. I love when students have that "Aha" moment when they see the results of what they have been working on lead to success. My professional and teaching experiences are in the areas of: Quality Assurance - Database Design, Software Development and Client Deliver as well as Software Product Marketing.
I spend the majority of my time working with the local community and industries to build relationships and networks for our students to gain employment. Over the past six years I have developed our students into sought after resources to the local tech community. I have built strong professional relationships with most of the major organizations in the Philadelphia region, where our student get great jobs and wonderful experiences as interns.
I came to the CIS department in a non traditional way - starting as an adjunct faculty member - then moving into a non-tenure track faculty position - today I hold the title of Assistant Professor.
I have a passion for student success because it was my Temple education that allowed me to be confident and successful in my career in technology - when there were VERY few women in my field. I am proud to say I am Temple Made and I enjoy working with the next generation of Temple Made success stories.
