CIS Announces Its Fall Distinguished Lecture Series

The CIS Department has invited four distinguished computer scientists/engineers to speak about important innovations and topics in computer and information sciences.The first lecture will be Wednesday September 7, with Ian Akyildiz (Georgia Institute of Technology) presenting his work on "SoftAir: Software-Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization Solutions for 5G Cellular Systems", followed by Leandros Tassiulas (Yale University) on Wednesday, October 19th, speaking about his work on "High Capacity Wireless Network Architectures Through Collaboration, Competition, and Intelligent Information Storage". On Thursday, November 10th, Arvind (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) will speak about "Big Data Analytics on Flash Storage with Accelerators". Then on Wednesday, November 20th, Divesh Srivastava (AT&T Labs -Research) will speak about "Big Data Integration"
