Travel Support

About 16 participants from HBCU/MEI will be awarded travel grants to cover their travel expenses. The selection of the HBCU/MEI faculty participants for travel support is limited to 2 per institute and based on a first-come-first-serve policy. After the participants are selected, invitation emails will be sent to them. Selection is automatic when you apply.

Directions to Hotel

FROM THE NORTH - TRENTON (USING I-95)

Follow I-95 South to Exit 22 which is the "676 West Central Philadelphia" Exit. When you get off at the exit, follow 676 West to the first exit which is "Broad Street/Central Philadelphia". When you get off that exit, it will bring you onto 15th Street. Take 15th Street one half block to Spring Street and make a right, then go one block to 16th Street and make a right. The hotel is a ¼ block on the left.

FROM THE SOUTH - WASHINGTON, DC and BALTIMORE

Follow I-95 North to "Exit 22" which is the "676 West Central Philadelphia" Exit. When you get off at the exit, follow 676 West to the first exit which is "Broad Street/Central Philadelphia". When you get off that exit, it will bring you onto 15th Street. Take 15th Street one half block to Spring Street and make a right, then go one block to 16th Street and make a right. The hotel is a ¼ block on the left.

FROM THE WEST - PA. TURNPIKE and HARRISBURG

Take the PA Turnpike to Exit 24, which is the "Valley Forge" Exit. When you get off at that exit, take 76 East to Exit 344 (old exit number 38) which is "676 East/Central Philadelphia" Exit. When you get off at that exit, take "Broad Street/Central Phila Ramp". Make a right onto 15th Street. Go one block to Spring Street and make a right. Go one block to 16th Street, make a right. The hotel entrance is a ¼ block on the left.

FROM THE EAST and NORTH – NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY

Take the NJ Turnpike to exit 4. When you get off exit 4 you will take 73 North. Take 73 North to 38 West. Take 38 West to 30 West. 30 West will take you over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. When you come over the bridge, you will be on Vine Street. Stay in the local traffic lanes on Vine Street to 17th Street. At 17th Street, make a left onto 17th Street. The hotel is one block down on the left.

TO PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

When you come up from the garage, you will be facing 16th Street. Make a left on 16th. If you keep traveling straight up 16th (approximately 2 blocks) you will see "76/International Airport" on far left. Take the exit around and go straight. Approximately 3/4 of a mile you will see another sign to International Airport on your right hand side. Get off there. Keep following the International Airport signs and it will take you right to the Airport.
